Tadej Pogačar Goes Full Superfan Mode on Ventoux and Does Everything Fans Aren't Supposed To
The world No. 1 took a break from Vuelta a España preparations to support Urška Žigart during a wild edition of the Tour de France Femmes.

Tadej Pogačar may be the world’s No. 1 cyclist, but on Mont Ventoux he looked like just one more overexcited superfan cheering on the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift.
A video posted on X shows Pogačar in full vacation mode, with white T-shirt, bucket hat, sunglasses, and cheering alongside fans waving banners for partner Urška Žigart.
Then, in the span of a few seconds, the five-time Tour de France winner broke just about every rule on cycling’s unwritten fan-etiquette checklist.
Didn’t the Tour de France issue a public plea before Alpe d’Huez just a few weeks ago?
Don’t run alongside the riders.
Don’t film riders with your smartphone.
Don’t push the riders.
And, in his excitement to support Žigart, Pogačar briefly became the very fan he usually has to weave around on mountain stages.
Of course, it’s all in good fun.
At least he wasn’t setting off any flares.
And luckily the UCI race jury didn’t notice, either.

Cycling’s power couple to celebrate in Nice
“I found my favorite tourist by the side of the road,” Žigart wrote on Instagram.
Less than two weeks ago, Žigart went to Paris to celebrate Pogačar’s fifth Tour de France victory on the Champs Élysées.
Pogačar is returning the love this week in a wild edition of the Tour de France Femmes. It’s obvious King Pog is enjoying the vibes of being a superfan.
Pogačar — aka Mr. Žigart as he likes to say — took up roadside duties on Ventoux and then showed up again this weekend in Nice.
On Sunday, Pogačar fully embraced his new role as support crew, sporting a white T-shirt emblazoned with “Urška’s HAB” — Husbands and Boyfriends — and an arrow pointing directly back at himself.
Žigart — racing on AG Insurance-Soudal — enjoyed a breakout season, finishing sixth at the Vuelta and eighth at the Giro for her best grand tour results.

The 29-year-old fractured her jaw in a high-speed crash at the Tour de Suisse in June, but made it back to racing just six weeks later. A stomach illness derailed her Femmes early, and she started Sunday’s finale in Nice sitting 51st overall at 1:18:16.
Cycling’s power couple will be celebrating Sunday after the 2026 Femmes wraps.
Pogačar is already preparing for the Vuelta a España, which starts August 22 in Monaco.
So at least the commute won’t be too long.
