Andrew Hood
Andrew Hood, aka “EuroHoody,” is European Editor for Velo. Based in Spain, he joined the staff in 2002, reporting from dozens of Tours de France, Giros d'Italia, Vueltas a España, spring classics, and world championships across road, track, cyclocross, and mountain biking. With more than three decades covering the sport, Hood specializes in grand tour racing, breaking news, features, interviews, and analysis. He's also covered six Olympic Games and reported on races across six continents.
A graduate of the University of Colorado, his work has appeared in ESPN, Outside, SKI, The New York Times, Condé Nast Traveler, Washington Post, Dallas Morning News, and Denver Post. He is a voting member of the prestigious Vélo d'Or jury and has appeared as a cycling analyst on CNN, NBC, NPR, and the BBC.
When he's not chasing the pro peloton, Hood enjoys traveling, exploring by bike, playing bad guitar, and finding great food. Chances are, if there's a bike race somewhere in the world, EuroHoody has either been there or has it on his list.
