Time Trial Start Times Elite Men and Women: Who Starts When at Montréal Road Worlds?

The women’s and men’s elite time trials will put a fast start on the 2026 UCI road world championships on Sunday.

Starting Sunday morning with the elite women, the first rainbow jerseys of the Montréal worlds will be at play on a flat, twisting 39.2km course suited to the specialists.

The men’s elite race blasts off early Sunday afternoon, a few hours after the women’s medals are awarded.

Both the men and women ride the same 39.2km parcours, which takes in the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve F1 circuit and ends with a thigh-burning 400-meter uphill.

The course amasses only 220m of gain, so expect racing to be lightning-fast.

Defending champions Remco Evenepoel and Marlen Reusser are outright favorites.

But these races against the clock aren’t a done deal. Demi Vollering, Filippo Ganna, Zoe Bäckstedt, and USA’s Taylor Knibb and Brandon McNulty could surprise.

Zimbabwe’s Skye Davidson will open the 2026 road worlds at 9:19:30 local time (ET). The three big favorites for the elite women’s race start at 90-second intervals from 10:28:30.

Gil Gomes from Guinea-Bissau is first man down the ramp at 13:00. “Aero bullet” Evenepoel is the last man at 14:30.
