Tadej Pogačar had to bring all his descending skills to the final of stage 6 of the Vuelta a España on Thursday.
The Slovenian only narrowly kept it upright after he lost control while railing a narrow downhill in the bid to blow Enric Mas off his wheel, 19km from the finish line.
Pogačar seemed to overcook a sweeping right-hander and rumbled onto the grassy verge. He was able to come to a halt after just a few meters before he unclipped and pushed his way back onto the tarmac.
This was a very near miss from Pogačar. Maybe the GOAT does get things wrong, after all.
Pogačar soon jumped back onto Mas’ wheel in anticipation of the 2-up finale.
